Terms and Conditions
The terms on which we sell to you through this website. Please read them before placing an order.
Last updated: 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
This website, theschoolbagcompanyuk.com, is operated by The School Bag Company, a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 16051288, incorporated on 30 October 2024, with its registered office at Unit 10 Chertsey Business Park, Hanworth Lane, Chertsey, England, KT16 9GJ. Our nature of business is recorded as 47910 — Retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet. You can contact us at [email protected] or by writing to the registered office address above.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean The School Bag Company; "you" and "your" mean the person placing an order through this website.
2. These terms
These are the terms and conditions on which we supply goods to you. Please read them carefully before placing an order — they tell you who we are, how we will provide goods to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem, and other important information. By placing an order you confirm that you accept these terms.
We amend these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are those displayed on this page at the moment you place it. We recommend you save or print a copy.
3. Consumers and business customers
These terms are written primarily for consumers — individuals buying wholly or mainly for personal use. If you are buying as a business, school or other organisation, sections concerning statutory consumer rights, the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 do not apply to you, and different terms may be agreed in writing. Please contact us for business terms before placing a bulk order.
4. How a contract is formed
- Our acceptance of your order takes place when we confirm it in writing, at which point a contract comes into existence between you and us.
- The order reference generated on screen and by email when you submit the order form acknowledges receipt of your order. It is not, by itself, acceptance of it.
- We do not take payment at the point of ordering. A member of our team confirms availability, personalisation and the final total, then issues a secure payment link. The contract is formed when we confirm acceptance.
- If we are unable to accept your order — because an item is out of stock, because of an error in the price or description, or because we cannot meet a delivery deadline you have specified — we will inform you and will not charge you.
5. Our goods
- Images on this website are illustrative. Colour reproduction varies between screens and we cannot guarantee that a device displays colours accurately.
- Capacities, dimensions and weights stated on product pages are nominal and subject to manufacturing tolerance of approximately ±5%.
- Products may change in minor respects — materials, technical adjustments and improvements, or changes required to comply with law. Where a manufacturer makes such a change, it will not materially affect your use of the product.
- Where a product is described as suitable for a particular age or school year, this is guidance only. See our back care page for how to size a bag properly.
6. Price and payment
- All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the applicable rate where chargeable.
- The price of the goods is the price shown on the product page at the time you place the order, plus any personalisation charge of £4.50 per personalised bag, plus delivery.
- Delivery charges are shown before you submit your order and on our delivery page. Standard UK delivery is free on orders over £75.00.
- It is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some goods may be incorrectly priced. If the correct price at the date of your order is higher than the price stated, we will contact you for instructions before accepting the order. If the pricing error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as a mispricing, we may cancel the order and refund any sums paid.
- Payment is taken via a secure payment link issued after we confirm your order. We do not store card details on this website and no card data is collected by this site.
7. Personalisation
- The text you supply is embroidered exactly as given, in the thread colour you select, subject to the character limits shown on the product page.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the text, including spelling and capitalisation. Please check your order confirmation carefully and tell us immediately if anything is wrong.
- We may decline to stitch text which is offensive, unlawful, infringes a third party's rights (including school crests and trade marks) or which we consider inappropriate. Where we decline, we will contact you and offer an alternative or a full refund.
- Personalised goods are made to your specification and cannot be cancelled or returned for a change of mind. See our Warranty & Returns page and section 9 below.
8. Delivery
- Delivery timings, costs and coverage are set out on our delivery page and form part of these terms.
- Unless otherwise agreed, we will deliver the goods without undue delay and in any event within 30 days of the day on which the contract is made.
- The goods are your responsibility from the time we deliver them to the address you gave us, or to a safe place or neighbour at your instruction.
- If no one is available and the goods cannot be posted through the letterbox, the carrier will leave a note. If, after a reasonable attempt to arrange redelivery or collection, we are unable to deliver, we may end the contract and refund you less reasonable costs incurred.
- We are not responsible for delays outside our control. If our supply is delayed by an event outside our control, we will contact you and take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. If the delay is substantial you may end the contract and receive a refund for goods not delivered.
9. Your right to cancel and to return
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day after delivery to cancel, and a further 14 days to return the goods. We voluntarily extend this to 30 days for unused goods in original condition. Full detail, including the exception for personalised goods and who pays return postage, is on our Warranty & Returns page, which forms part of these terms.
10. Faulty goods and our warranty
We are under a legal duty to supply goods that conform to this contract. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In addition, each bag carries a manufacturer's warranty of one, two or three years as stated on its product page, on the terms set out on our Warranty & Returns page.
11. Our right to end the contract
We may end the contract at any time by writing to you if:
- you do not make a payment when due and you still do not make payment within 14 days of our reminding you;
- you do not, within a reasonable time, provide information that is necessary for us to supply the goods — for example personalisation text or a complete delivery address; or
- we are unable to supply the goods for reasons outside our control.
If we end the contract in these situations we will refund any money you have paid in advance for goods we have not provided, but we may deduct or charge reasonable compensation for the net costs we incur as a result.
12. Our liability
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods, and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
- We are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for loss of or damage to the contents of a bag.
- If you are a business customer, our total liability to you for any loss arising in connection with the contract is limited to the price paid for the goods.
13. Use of this website
- All content on this website — text, product descriptions, layout, graphics and code — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not reproduce, republish or exploit any part of it commercially without our written permission.
- You must not misuse this website by knowingly introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or using automated means to place orders or extract data.
- We take reasonable care to ensure the information on this website is accurate, but we do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free.
14. Your personal information
We use your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, both of which form part of these terms.
15. Complaints
If you have a complaint, email [email protected] with "Complaint" and your order reference in the subject line. We aim to acknowledge within two working days and to resolve within fourteen. If we cannot resolve matters between us, you may seek alternative dispute resolution or advice from Citizens Advice; your right to bring court proceedings is unaffected.
16. Other important terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and will ensure the transfer does not affect your rights.
- You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to another person if we agree in writing — except that you may transfer our warranty to a person who has acquired the goods, on notifying us.
- This contract is between you and us. No other person has any rights to enforce any of its terms.
- Each paragraph of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force.
- If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things or prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
- These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in the English courts. If you live in Scotland you may bring proceedings in either the Scottish or the English courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland, in either the Northern Irish or the English courts.
